Thanksgiving

This year was our first official Thanksgiving together. My mom & grandma flew in for the long weekend to help us cook & spoil us while they could. It never ceases to amaze me how the food is prepped half the day and gone in 20 minutes. It was so nice to have family here with us though, especially after this rough year.
I'm incredibly thankful for Jay. If I hadn't met him last year, I wouldn't of stayed in AZ, wouldn't have him obviously, and our precious dog! He makes every day here worth while and I love spending time with him, he's the greatest man ever! I'm thankful for Uley because dogs make everyday better & he's the best four legged baby I could ask for!
I'm so thankful for my mom & grandma - they've been my best friends and the best parents I could of asked for. I'm thankful for the wonderful 19 years I got to spend with my grandpa and great grandpa. They have been the best male figures in my life & I'm so glad I was able to develop that relationship with them.
What would the holidays be without family after all?

We also got our FIRST Christmas tree this year! I'm so excited and I can't stop looking at it!! It's almost 80 degrees everyday and this definitely helps it make it feel more like the holidays here. And of course, it's OUR first tree :) This is a horrible picture, but oh well.

In the spirit of Christmas & Thanks to Pinterest, I also made this wreath. Who knows how many ornaments I ended up doing but it was super easy, it only took a few hours and now I can admire it - things are so much better when you make them yourself.

I really love the holidays so much & I can't wait to get finals over and get back to Texas with our families. This new year is going to be absolutely wonderful, I can just tell!

Until next time - xoxo

Dinner/Desert

So, when my course load lightens up I love making new things for Jay & I to eat. Ingredients allowing, I'll try anything! Tonight - I did turkey meatloaf cupcakes!
It's a horrible picture I know, and kinda sloppy because Jay was STARVING! but aren't they cute!!!
I got the recipe online here.
The mashed potatoes on top are just simple and thrown together. I also don't have an ice cream scooper so they're sloppy, like I said.

In all of my free time today I've found so many Christmas crafts that I can't wait to start! I love the holidays so much! This will be Jay and I's first holiday season together (without splitting up for families) and it's going to be wonderful! We definitely deserve it after the rough year we've both had!

Howdy! Nice to meet ya!

For awhile now I've wanted to start a blog, but I didn't know where I would go with it.
I've also wanted to scrapbook, but I'm not creative what-so-ever.
So here I am, combining the best of both!

My name is Brittany and I'm currently a college student in Arizona living with my boyfriend Jay, our adorable dog Uley, and a roommate that Jay went to undergrad with. We are so happy to of been brought together through school - but we cannot WAIT to leave this place! Hopefully just a little under 2 years left and we'll never have to return to this place at all!!!

Uley is our adorable wiener/beagle? We adopted him just about 5 months ago and he's the best dog ever!
